Have you checked the recent Anthropic update, its usage policy (effective Nov 12). You can no longer use Claude to build fake “independent” sites that push the same claims to influence search or AI answers. But it doesn’t change how AI picks or cites sources. It only limits what people can do with Claude. Real content and genuine mentions aren’t affected.

Could it indirectly help White hat? Maybe fewer fake source networks means cleaner sources for AI to pull from. That’s just my guess, the article doesn’t say it.
  1. Do you think this changes anything for AI citations, or is it just a policy on Claude users?
  2. Are fake source networks working for AI citations, or is it mostly hype?
  3. What’s actually getting you cited right now for you guys?

Look like restriction on claude users than direct change to ai citations. Anthropic found fake site networks, but hasn’t shown they actually improved ai citations. I’d be interested in real tests comparing coordinated sites with genuine, relevant mentions across ai platforms.

I think it could help indirectly, but the real question is whether these fake networks actually get consistent AI citations. Anyone tested this with real data? Also curious what type of content is getting cited most these days.
