Oh ok ok I was just curious because I seen people mention about using scrapebox to filter high alexa rankings from URL lists. Just doesn't make sense to me why someone would want to do that when creating backlinks.
No but there's a correlation, so it's a good metric to use. Makes a lot more sense than using PageRank or something but less sense than something like majestic. Alexa is free so there you go.

But what would you use the metric for? Like just for selling the website or something? So if someone tries to build backlinks from low alexa websites, that doesn't do anything either?
Well, it plays when you deal with links as you'd want to get links and traffic so low Alexa websites have a better chance of giving you some traffic when you leave your links on them.
Building links the right way is not only about backlinks but building relationships and traffic.
