AFAIK there's nothing in U.S. copyright law that says you can't claim copyright on something that your computer generated. it probably gets messy when you're using a third party server to do it. maybe look at the TOS of the third parties you're using to generate the images, there may be some copyright claim in that. but if you're running the AI on your own servers and have the rights to the software in the first place then you're definitely fine.

that's only if they were completely created by the AI. if there was any human interaction in the creation of the art, such as feeding it text like OpenAI, then it is indeed copyright protected because you were involved. but if you press a button and it randomly creates the image with no help from you, then that isn't copyrightable. that's why i mentioned the idea of owning the AI, or at least having rights to ownership based on TOS. if you created the AI, for example, even if it were forked or based on some other software algos but you had written enough code in it to make it yours, you could argue that anything it produces is copyrighted and owned by you.

If the AI tool owner automatically ads watermark, then only it can be issue. But if they do this, people will not even try that tool. So you are safe to use AI generated images.
