I’ve seen some agencies pushing video production (like short promos, testimonials, reels) as part of their Local SEO packages. Has anyone here actually tested this? Do videos on Google Business Profiles or local landing pages really improve map rankings, or is it just hype?

Videos engages visitors/viewers more I think that makes it more effective.

Adding videos is good for onpage seo, but a lot of factors depends on ranking. If you are trying to rank for a competative keyword, then you have to go deep pockets

Videos alone won't magically rank your higher, but they improve user signals that help.

Yes, adding video can help with Local SEO, especially on GMB and landing pages. Short, engaging videos like testimonials or product demos improve user engagement, which can indirectly boost map rankings.

Good question videos don’t directly boost map rankings, but they help with engagement signals and CTR, which can indirectly improve visibility. I’ve seen local clients get better leads when videos are added to their GBP and pages. Curious if others noticed the same?

Videos don’t directly boost map rank, but they build trust and help visitors choose your business faster.

I have been wondering about this myself I recently started adding videos to my clients’ listings but still not sure if it is making any difference in their local rankings.

yes adding video can help with local SEO. when you show your business in a real video—covering local area, service, staff—it builds trust and helps you appear in “nearby” searches. posting it on your site (with schema, good title) and on your YouTube/Google Business page gives you better chance for visibility.

Videos help with engagement and trust signals but don’t directly boost map rankings. Still worth adding for better conversions.

I have been wondering about this too. I started adding short videos to a few local pages, but I have not noticed any real improvement in rankings yet.

It wont help you boost your rank at all. In my own opinion its a waste of effort and time, people do not come to your gbp profile to be engaged. I would rather spend that time into proven methods that boost ranking

yeah videos really help with seo, together with the right optimization.

It’s not just hype - videos help with engagement and trust. They don’t directly boost rankings, but users spend more time on pages with videos, and that behavioral signal can help local visibility over time.

Can slightly increase engagement but no direct ranking improvements for having videos on your GBP.
