Hi,
I was curious what is your experience on that? Do you think account location/IP matter when it comes to the algorithm like on Tiktok? Or can I get the same US traffic when uploading from Europe instead of from the US?

YouTube does use location data to some extent when recommending videos to users.
 
Accounts location are matter. But you can get the same US traffic when uploading from Europe/ Asia/ Africa instead of from the US.
 
If your content is engaging and relevant to a US audience, you can still potentially reach that audience even if you're uploading from Europe. But, it may be more challenging to build an audience in a region that is different from your account location.
 
Your videos will be mainly shown in the country where your account was created from.

Yes, I am in SEA I mostly get traffic from SEA. So sad, it was mix traffic before Tiktok, now it is more local traffic.
 
Location is not that important in case of YouTube like TikTok. If the audience from some location like the content, it will go viral.
 
GG will make use of location to process the videos. Many of my videos have 98% views from my own country (I only upload videos with English content).
