I was wondering if anyone here is using such a thing and if it helps with seo?

Like a scraper intended to aggregate posts/data? Pretty sure that won't hurt you as long as you provide attribution.

You mean scraping for WP blogs using SB? If they were used for blog commenting, the comments have very weak benefit/signal with it comes to influencing a site's SERP ranking. It used to do marvelous job, just that now if pure spam commenting is used, it does not provide any value to the target website, as either the comments are not published, or irrelevant or could get your site marked as a spam site instead.

Well, I think it depends on how well you use it. I believe it won't bring any harm to your website, as long as you use it properly.

Yeah, well i found this wordpress plugin which can scrape different articles, facebook posts, recipes etc. Just wondering if this would have any benefits.

Done properly, it won't harm your website and would also give you some benefits. If you choose a topic and aggregate content from different sources and mention the source as well, it won't harm your site. But remember blatantly scraping and publishing as your own without mentioning the sources can hurt you.

Yea just like the others say, if used in the right way. I've used it in the past and it only helped me plus I started to rank for KW's I had not intention of ranking for.
