It depends on what you are using it for.
If you are looking at driving traffic then it's a big sucker.
And some article directories may remove your content especially the good ones.
If you are looking at manipulating your ranking then it may work as unique content on some sites.
But overall, it's a poor marketing strategy.

If this, then why those tools are selling premium version. Does those premium versions help?

I don't know what's included in the premium version. You should ask them.
What I certainly know is, tool can't write quality article that will get the attention of authority websites that will repost content and give you link back.
Spinning or gives you a crappy link.
The spin versions can be used in link building process but I don't think it will be beneficial for your main website. I use spinned versions which read well on web 2.0 sites.

Did you use this and get benefit? Did traffic came to your site through this type of article? As far I seen, they just used synonyms to rewrite the article. Sometimes it looks meaningless.

It's best to hire an experienced content writer to spin the articles in a quality way. Not a fan of tools.

When it comes to spinning articles and using it for some high-quality money sites that is big no no.
As mentioned before, they are good (if they are not indexed already) for link building, PBNs, web 2.0 blogs etc.
However, I strongly suggest that you manually spin articles since, to be truly honest, I didn't find any tool that good that will spin article so it appear unique.

Remember, Google is the best teacher, you can never deceive it. So advice is, don't try to.

Spun articles work great but not to your website content.
If you use spun article on your website it made no sense, a poorly written with a lot of grammatical error's may annoy Google.
Remember content is king and Google takes well care of each content that we posted. So, don't publish it on your website.
Besides, use the spun content to post on article directories and other posting services when you don't wanna invest for content. Although, I don't encourage people to do that.
