I post videos with tags with related key words, but I don't see my videos coming up when I search these keywords. Are they worth using?

Yes they are.. but you also have to rank your videos also with backlinks

Yes. Just because your videos don't show up doesn't mean they don't work. Your video also has to offer the viewer a good experience, and YouTube measures that by views and engagement. Also make sure your tags are used in video descriptions and titles, and you are not spamming the tags.

You can follow this idea-

#1. align content Development with viewer searches
#2. maximize video watch time
#3. drive long Chanel sessions
#4. keep your content consistent
#5. encourage off platforms embeds
#6. cultivate audience engagement

Of course, they are worth using. Use your focus keyword as a first tag and then proceed to another one which has the second highest priority. You can even take help of tools available on the Internet. Some of them are; Keyword Keg, Keyword tool, etc.

They do so many things you know. Just do your research right and use a good tool for checking search volume.
Also, can use Google trends if you need a free alternative. Cheers :)

YouTube search engine depends on various aspects, some of the major ones are - the number of vies a video has, number of subscribers a youtuber has, number of views their earlier videos had, region it has been published in, the length of the video, number of comments the video has, number of likes and the tags they have used.

Depending on this your video might be placed higher or lower in searches.
