Do you usually work at home?

Being a couch bum myself, I got my first online job back in 2015. I've never had a day job ever since.

While some view it as working from home, it allowed me to be on the streets for as long as I like. I'd spend most of my days going from one cafe to the other, spending time at art lounges...etc. I even moved 20 houses in 3 years; four cities in the same country, and now a whole new continent!

With every new lockdown, I'm infuriated that I can only work from home. It's tiresome and depressing.
I know a lot of people outside of IM are getting used to that lifestyle now.

But, in ideal circumstances,

Do you usually work from home?

Yes. Some people told me I should consider renting an office, but why would I waste money when I can work at home?
 
Home is where you can max out your productivity
If you're constantly shifting, you'll lose a lot of time in the process which is valuable for every marketer.

Plus, your body will fail to reap all restorative effects of sleep when there's a change in the environment.

I mean, of course I do get some stuff done at home. But I always prefer to go around cafes and art spaces.
You change the environment, it's always good for brainstorming and writing; you meet people, girls stare at you when you look serious on a laptop, for some reason; and I get my coffee made for me, don't have to go to the kitchen! It's an office job where every place you tread is your office..

I even go to pubs and work there!
But again, I'm the weirdo who would sit alone at a pub with a book in their hands. lol

That's honestly what I'm waiting for when this whole pandemic shit blows over

It wasn't really a walk in the park moving out of all those places. Learned a lot, tho.

I do appreciate being settled somewhere, but I always feel like changing the environment is ideal for this kind of work
 
If that type of lifestyle is making enough money and you are happy, continue living like that.

There is nothing bad in that.

And yes, I work from home, of course, when I'm not home/vacations/etc I work from there but usually it is a home.

I can see where you're coming from. I don't have a laptop as I do all my work on a Desktop PC.

But having a laptop for the last 12 months wouldn't have been worth it anyway, as we've been in lockdown for the most part, with cafes and pubs closed.

I do like the library, but that's more to read than to do more computer work.
