I've only played with C++ and Java to make little time consuming games and puzzles but im just wondering how any of you guys guys integrate them to your money making schemes? Aside from making programs and selling them of course.

With C++ you would need 1 year to code a bot, which with C# or other modern languages/frameworks you would need 1 month max.

So, C++ is not worth it in IM.

Java on the other hand, is pretty good for IM. You can do anything with it, code mobile/desktop/web apps.

aside from making programs and selling it, well ...i think that's pretty much the purpose why people study programming.

uhmm .. building bots/automation software is one good option to make money.

if you can teach programming, that's one way to make money too. :)

Usually I use lower level programming to integrate different software together.
When a software has low level integration joints I use C to be a proxy in the middle between the two softwares. It is very handy!

Straight up bollocks, probably from someone who has never coded before.

You can create bots in a day, I have done some bots for simple tasks in a couple of hours.

My latest bot scrapes and spins product descriptions from PDF catalogues for a ecommerce store.

    Took me 1.5 days.

    Agree on this..
however for IM c++ is not the best way to go for online bots(as we would assume bot's here on BHW) as other languages provide more reliable libraries/resources on this topic.

Not needed, don't waste your time on it. As long as you understand technically the processes which need to be done and can effectively communicate that you can hire outsourcers in the 3rd world to build whatever you need at a very low cost.

In fact, if you worked out the hourly rate for you coding the same scripts or software a job at McDonald's might start to look quite appealing. Focus your time on high hourly income generation items, and delegate lower return items to maximize your time and income.
