Do you use Reddit for blog post ideas?

ahrefs content explorer
It lets you sort based on social shares, search traffic and many more
you can also apply search operators to only search in a certain domain(s)

dont limit on reddit, go on lost of forums within your niche :)

Reddit is a great idea to get ideas from. I have looked there before, and also just follow along with the news in general.

Reddit is great to get traffic. Just be careful, if reddit users don't like your content, they will let you know. lol.

How do you find the real trending stuff that lots of people actually pay attention to?

Yup, we use reddit for blog posts (it's such a old idea:D). The real trending stuff always make good authority and traffic's with people.

Yes, social networks are a great source of ideas on condition that you know who your target audience is and where it can be found. As for reddit, audience there is a kind of picky and you should prepare quality content, otherwise you won't be popular there.

If you are going to take content idea from reddit, there is a high chance it will attract visitors similar to reddit. I mean visitor with similar interest and mindset which basically mean useless traffic.

Or maybe you don't know how to target the desired audience. Reddit users are generally smarter than the average fb joe. So spammy posts are no good.

It all boils down to your niche. Some niches are better suited to particular subreddits.

If your target audience doesnt have a well defined and active subreddit, chances are it will be useless traffic just like you said.

They are less useless than fb traffic in any means. They are mostly from top tier country and can provide good sales and ofcourse it depends on niches.

I guess you haven't targeted correctly since from your experience, reddit traffic has a high chance to be "useless traffic"

If targeted to the right subreddit to the right audience with the right text, you can easily get $100~ in sales PER post. It all boils down to how much you research and how well you can craft your posts to be able to match the Reddit user's mind.

Looks like you have not tested reddit yet.

What makes you say that?

I had one post make me $300 in sales. It's not too hard once you find the right type of audience to target. For my site, I targeted "fans" of a certain niche and was doing the free+shipping method. Got a little over 25 sales and a bit of upselling. Also managed to grab a ton of email address from a "spin to win" popup.

So yes, I HAVE tested Reddit and I use it as one of my main sources of traffic for my ecommerce site.

Can you post a pic of evidence that all Reddit traffic is mostly trash traffic?
I also don't want to keep on hijacking this thread so PM me if you want to drag this on.
