Do you use Meta Keywords nows?

Hi!

You don't have to be afraid as long as you keep making sure to follow good SEO practices and respect Google's guidelines.

Moreover, meta keywords have lost some of their importance.

You should check https://academy.mobidea.com/seo/how-to-write-seo-friendly-content/ to understand what other aspects can really help you do your thing and have your posts optimized with good practices as far as SEO is concerned!

Cheers!

Meta tags have lost their power in a big way on rankings over the past several years. But if to speak about title tags, header tags and blog post tags for example, to get the most out of your SEO strategy, you are advised to use them. Optimizing content with relevant and useful tags will improve the visitor experience and boost your rankings.

Hello
Meta tags are usually used to add the description of your page.
Helps the bots to know what the page is about.
when i started building sites i used meta tags but after i didn't use them for my sites
My sites without meta tags didn't affect the SEO
using meta tags is not a bad idea but time consuming process.

Ok I was wondering about to use meta keywords or not, then I checked the top 20 website for my keyword. 8 of sites on page 1 use meta keywords, 3 sites on page 2. So I systematically use meta keywords in all my posts. Gurus will tell you not to use it. Depites what those gurus said, I experiment everything, and one thing I can tell is no one has the definite answer to question except google and those who have experiment it. My advice to you is to check the top ranking page for your keywords and see if they are using meta keywords. If they do, then you know what you are suppose to do.

Yay! :)

Nope... no contradiction at all. I don't care what the factors are... I invest in the ones that the data says are probable... that is about as pure as it gets.

"nope i need to have the last word..."
again, suit yourself .. btw make sure you just use meta keywords that match your websites content, otherwise bing will penalize you. but i'm sure you know that already.......

you do know that meta keywords are used by social networks, bookmarking sites etc, so who is to say they add the meta keyword for SEO purposes? anyways as mentioned before some search engines still use them, but for google they are useless. just because the top 10 pages have meta keywords doesn't say anything that this is a ranking factor. there is no harm done in adding them, you might even save time when posting your site on social networks, but don't expect a ranking benefit on google.

I do not use them anymore. Google doesn't give any value for them now.

I am still using meta keywords. But I ain't facing any problems at all.

i think google still use metakeyword, just it is not a serious metric for ranking.

check top 10 sites from google keyword search, still many sites using
<meta name="keywords"

the "real experts" don't use them at all :p google doesn't use them for ranking in any way, so the previous example for keyword stuffing etc. is just plain wrong, as the bot will simply ignore the keyword line from the meta tags.
here is why:
Have you ever of heard the term "UX"
It refers to "User Experience". A meta keyword adds relevance to the user.
Unsure where you were going with keyword stuffing being wrong, however, I suggest looking into your facts.
You are right in that meta tags aren't noticed, keywords on the other hand matter. i.e. "keyword stuffing" is a bad practice.

I know what you were trying to say, and I'm pretty sure you know everything I just said. I simply get a kick out of pointing out flaws when someone is consciously trying to sound like a big shot.

Meta certainly doenst hurt if done correctly and can actually be beneficial so why wouldnt you.

Many opinions in this thread, mostly about what big G say about the subject of this thread. But, big G say alot of things, in my opinion true is somewhere in the middle, because in my niche I see alot of shity horrible sites ranked in the first 3 results in some countries, ranked by many keywords. Those sites have up to 100k traffic per day... So yeah Big G is relatively in how it's work sometimes.

Meta Description is must when compared to Meta Keywords, I don't use Meta Keywords after the past updates from Google

Currently I don't use meta keyword, however I also have many keywords at top 3. I don't know or also don't check about this with my top competitors but in my case the meta keyword will not work. IMO

You can use meta keywords as it will not harm, but Google won't give any value for it.
