I think that (blue) Members ought to institute as a matter of unofficial forum policy that lame one-liners by new members with less than "x" posts will be neg-repped. That way, if they start PM-ing members trying to scam them (as we all read about in the shitlist threads), those Members will have a chance at avoiding getting scammed, due to the fact that a brand-new member has less than 10 rep, with less than "x" posts.
A "red flag", if you will.
You don't get it , is not about the bst or scams with these accounts. It's about the REP.
Lets do the math
For every point of rep you need to either have 100 rep in increments of 100 rep, or you get 1 rep for every year of the age of your account.
When you take that in consideration, it wouldn't even see impossible for a regular botter to go and create a bunch of bhw accounts, feed it a bunch of bullshit comments in a queue to regularly post.
What you eventually end up with is a bunch of accounts that ultimately have atleast 1 rep power, times that by 40-50 if you are doing it semi big, and you have the bulk of rep points you can have at your disposal, add some fake reviews to w/e you want to do and you have just created some bhw accounts that can fool the majority of bhw users that roam this place.
At the end of the day, this forum is just like any other site people bot. Just cause for you it seems like the only place you wouldn't bot doesn't seem like other people who aren't as attached to this community wouldn't want to bot it to make a profit out of it.
Last time I was on odesk I saw a posting like this
https://www.odesk.com/jobs/Looking-for-contractors-who-has-these-developer-forum-accounts_~01736c4d2e756f3f29?search_result=1
After talking to the guy, because I was curious to see what exactly he wants accounts at these forums. I came to the conclusion from what he told me that there are some individuals here that buy "services" provided by these guys to influence their threads with a bunch of "rep", "positive reviews" and a whole lot of other posts that would help the buyers of these services increase their trustworthy rank to a whole new horizon. How did i come up with this conclusion? Well based on the way he talked "I need these accounts with x posts done by this time and delivered to my dropbox account , I need them on time because my clients are waiting for them"
In other words, If you have been living under a rock you wouldn't even been thinking of how big of a market has been formed outside this community that revolves about botting bhw accounts and other IM forums.
Trust me, there is money to be made on bhw lots of money not just scams but other type of back room deals that go through and are usually done in respect of the person's rep power.
Don't be fooled thinking this is some small time operation one guy is doing with 2-3 accts, I can assure you some one right now in some place of the earth is atleast running some sort of bot feeding some bullshit comments to his bot and farming bhw accounts
