Do you use desktop computer or laptop for your BHW work?

Personally, my laptop is getting too slow. I think the HDD could use a SDD replacement. But what's your favorite work tool?

I guess the laptop's comfort is great, as you can lie down, but desktop seems to trigger that psychological factor of work mode enabled and increase productivity, as well as being significantly more powerful.

So what's your choice?

Laptop, so I can work from home and attach it to my external monitor and keyboard in my office. I don't see the need for a desktop.

Just buy a decent model and you can do anything on it. Photo/video-editing, coding, etc.

A workstation laptop with some juice in it, laptops can be fast to, if your not buying a slow consumer market one.

Desktop is the best option for work

When I failed in RND always I break my keyword & buy another one

But in laptop you can't nonono

Guys one con about laptop is that it can be easily STOLEN, and that's what happened to my last one. $500 worth.

Pretty sure the burglar would have left it alone if it was a big, wired tangly a** ole PC. And would be cheaper too.

Right now thinking if investing $250 in i5 desktop and FHD monitor and simple desk, would go for custom made floor desk, 30 cm high table to sit in the floor oriental style is a priority as my laptop HDD's cripled with a worm (worm virus type), and even with SDD laptop model screen is a lousy 1366x768, two windows side by side is a no-no unless u have full hd

Laptop.
But I also travel a LOT, like pre-covid 100,000 air miles a year level of travel, so a desktop would be awful, as sometimes I don’t have a desk. Lol.

Sure ideally you'd have both, but thread is more like if you had to choose?

a $50 US off-lease business desktop that I upgraded to 32GB Ram. It has served me well for the past 3 years.

Oh no. Ideally I would have a laptop, even if not 100% required.
I like the flexibility to move about, and most work outside of specialized functions(gaming, mining, rendering animations) a laptop will handle what you throw at it.

That's the way buddy. I sold a shitty 8 year old laptop and bought a off-lease piece for $80. Enough to complete all the tasks. Much faster than the old thing.

I have a beefy desktop for gaming/working.

I also bought a dell monitor with a scratch for $20. 23 inches screen and a pivot. Cost of a new piece at the moment of production was around $250. Extremely good colors. Beats brand new $150 screens. My eyes are thankful.
I think this is the type of product you should be flipping on ebay for reselling purposes.
Unfortunately the demand is high, but the number of off-lease gold is low.

I prefer working on a desktop computer with keyboard, mouse, big screens and a desk.

sometimes I sit downstairs on my laptop but I just don’t have the same focus.

Working on my desktop, using laptop when drinking coffee waking up, or watching tennis for and checking some things.

Always smiling when someone tells me "but with laptop I'm working and laying in bed" LOL .. Are you working or sleeping/relaxing? Get your a** up, sit and start working. The laptop is for ppl who travel a lot (my opinion) ..

Will not change desktop for hard/focused work anytime soon .. been like that for over 20 years

I used to work on my smartphone for a while because my computer broke.
It turned out my revenue was 1/4th.
The low performance of laptop units was also reflected in my productivity.

When I sit at my home office desk, I plug my laptop into it’s cradle, and have keyboard, trackball, 2 large monitors… and all the power and flexibility of a laptop for when I want/need to roam.

Workstation. 3 Monitors. Laptop for when I wanna have joint and work outside. Phone to check stats when I am on the throne. Whiteboard for planning. Next I will buy a digital whiteboard thing. It's 2021 and I ain't no 90's school teacher, hell no, is time to upgrade that.
