Yes, I use premium themes for the support, flexibility, and additional features, they save time and usually come with premade layouts/templates, so with a few changes, you are good to go. Big time saver. Free themes can work too, but you will often need to put in more effort to get them where you want.

Everyone has their own experience, but for me, I have tried GeneratePress, Blocksy, Astra, and SmartMag. I mostly got AdSense approval on SmartMag, so that’s what worked best in my case. That’s why I say, what works for one person might not work the same for another.

Whenever I start a new website or project, I always invest in a premium WordPress theme right from the start. It sets the tone for me. Buying a premium theme instantly makes the project feel more serious and professional.

When I spend money on something, even a small amount, it pushes me to commit fully. It forces me to be more intentional, more disciplined, and more focused. When you've put skin in the game, you’re naturally more motivated to show up and make it work.

Using a free theme on a serious project is like saying you don’t fully believe in it. Always invest. That small upfront cost shows you're serious, sets the tone, and gives your project the proper foundation.

A premium theme can be worth it if it makes your site faster, better-looking, and easier to customize. It’s good for SEO if it’s lightweight and well-coded.
But if you’re just starting, a free theme works fine. No need to spend money unless it actually improves speed and user experience
 
I use premium themes because of their pre-made templates which I do like to customize to my taste with the niche in mind.
 
I prefer light weight Premium Themes. It's secured!
 
I design my theme with divi. This gives me the privilege to modify it the way I like.
 
Premium themes are costly but you should use them for better interaction and safety.
 
I mainly use two premium themes for all of my sites:
- Generatepress
- Popcorn

Both are lightweight, fast and secure
 
Sometimes I use premium themes and sometimes I use websites builder like Divi or Elementor to personalize my web page in many aspects, but both options are good.
