I am not a fan of twitter but honestly I dont think it will fail soon if it is destined to fail. I have seen more and more people joining and using twitter everyday. most businesses, CEOs and managers and celebs use the twitter handle to communicate, comment or advice. If it has to fail, then it will take more than words to fail it, I dont see any competition that can easily displace twitter unless someone is willing to misuse billions to try and fail twitter. as I said earlier I dont use twitter and therefore am not biased in any way/ thanks

Twitter will likely never fall.
The growth and atmosphere are suitable to last the duration of the Internet.
The amount of publicity to tweets is more than Facebook and it's intuitive structure holds value for all purposes for marketers, fans / users, businesses, advertisers and content creators alike.
Twitter profiles can establish grounds quickly and direct traffic at an jnprescedented rate and it defined the social network atmosphere.
This thread popped up in comparison to Facebook when it became established years before and look at where it is now... At the top of the charts. Even with competitors, look at Google's rivals and things that pop up that end up dying like al those ponzi's making false claims, underused websites and creative material that gets hype and moves in the graveyard.
In no means will TWITTER die, FACEBOOK wouldn't fall and hasnt since these threads were last posted. In fact, they both spiraled and boomed.
Twitter is in Television and news more than Facebook on every channel and in every ad, but there are more business to consumer advertisements lenient towards Facebook and their FanPage feature.

Actually, it just happened today. Google bought Songza and they just announced they're going to kill it in January. Everything will be ported to Google Play Music.
(in that case, they bought to kill competition, but they probably wanted to acquire some technology or patents too)

I dont think twitter will fail. Theres a lot of money and celebrities and such in it. I think if anything the MASS amount of fake spam/old accounts that take up names and such are the worst part and are a lot more noticeable than say fake accounts on facebook. Sometimes twitter feels like a giant pile of advertising/spam.
