Do You Think Twitter is Failing?

Twitter, Instagram and YouTube are the only things that I like. Best ideas ever. I hate Facebook from all my heart tho, if something must fail, I hope it's Facebook xD

I'm pretty sure FB isn't going anywhere. It's got like over a billion users. That's not about to happen.

I hope it does fail, but it's highly unlikely. I never quite saw the appeal, I suppose. What can possibly be said using just 140 characters?
well... people follow mainly celebrities there... so when one goes for a shit, s/he has enough characters to post about it and then people can ask if it was good.

yeah, 1bil accounts... just wonder how many of real accounts are there... but those companies will never say as millions of fake accounts make them looks better for investors.

Question:

Do you guys use google trends? Check out how twitter is behaving there.

by the way...

I'm not the truth's owner, just want to know your opinions about all the news this year about twitter and its stock market. I think its popularity is "slowly" decreasing (let's think about how the new players impact in this business), let's remember that Kodak was a big player in the market for more than 100 years, so I don't think twitter is a bulletproof company. Have a nice day everyone.

Yeah, luisk is right... I've checked Google Trends and it isn't anything good for Twitter. Actually, I compared Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook and Google+, see it:

https://www.google.com.br/trends/explore#q=twitter, tumblr, facebook, google+&cmpt=q&tz=Etc/GMT+3

Facebook has a huge piece of cake, after Twitter, Tumblr and Google+. It doesn't matter if I guess it should fail or not, what really matters are those numbers and they say me that it's time to focus more on Facebook.

I don't think it would fail also because it's more clean than facebook.People have to summarize all their content in 140 words which make it really easy to read.

@alwaysinvinsable Twitter sucks when it comes to discipline. I get all kinds of Arabic spam and I report it as spam. I seem to get more when I report it LOL. Anyway, this spam is taking over my Twitter account and I am helpless to do anything about. I English only in my settings and it does not mean anything to Twitter.

I am thinking about others who are frustrated with this foreign spam and cannot do anything about it. I imagine allot of Twitter accounts are being abandoned because if this. Also, I imagine they are losing allot of revenue from their advertisers. Is this a hack by ISIS?

I don't understand why they can't set something up to filter foreign languages from appearing in you Twitter account? I have been told it has something to do with tagging?

Add to this all the fake accounts that have found their way into my account.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

It's over, I have 4 million + followers, and can't make money with then anymore after making a living for over 2 years.

It's not over for people using it, but it's over for average Internet marketers(us) trying to make money with it.

I find it hilarious that some people here say that :

+ they think Twitter will fail
+ they also admit they don't understand how it works

That's some serious opinion.

Some people like Twitter. Some people love Twitter. Some people prefer Twitter. You may disagree. You may have a hard time understanding how it works. You may have a hard time monetizing it. That doesn't mean it'll fail.

I work with Twitter and I don't care if it'll still be here in 5 years. If it fails, it'll be a big disappointment but I'll adapt and move elsewhere. Meanwhile, I find it way more interesting than Facebook. And I'm not even following celebrities.

It also depends on what you mean by "fail." It could "fail" as a publicly traded company -- then it would come under some other type of ownership. That might result in changes for the average user, or it might not.

And then there is "fail" as a service. This would mean that users stop using it. Like MySpace.

Twitter isn't growing as fast as Wall Street would like, but the users still seem to really like it, and there are plenty of them.

i think twitter will be around for a while, until they get bought out by someone

I use twitter once in a while. But it is really not my favorite by any means. I could see that they could potentially fail.

If they get bought out by someone, I don't think that means they'll go away. Why would anyone pay good money for Twitter if they don't plan to keep operating it?

This happens sometimes in the business world. Buy competitor. Close competitor. Kill competition. And at this point, you usually raise prices and the customer is screwed. Hurray for capitalism.

But I don't see who would be crazy/stupid enough to buy and kill Twitter. I'm pretty sure that closing it won't affect Facebook's trafic and ad revenue.
