Do you think this would work?

Sometime last year I had a friend who was posting 10-30 articles per day on his blog (sometimes more). He was manually re-writing articles and sometimes coming up with some on his own.

He'd follow current events/topics as well as google trends.
He was making decent money with it back then.

Can't get a hold of him to talk about this but...

I was planning on writing 300 articles for associated content this month (average/decent quality) for some extra cash - but it turns out they're not paying as much per article.

I'm thinking about just starting a WP blog and posting 10-20 keyword dense articles per day & using tools like bookmarking demon.

Any idea if this type of thing works to get a flood of traffic (by following trends and current events)? I mean I know it would get me traffic and adsense/affiliate sales....I guess what I'm asking is...

I'm either going to do this or just start a some kind of high paying keyword blog like credit/bankruptcy. Wonder how 300-400 articles in a month would do on Google.

Of course it works. That's one of the best ways to drive targeted traffic. Also write articles and submit them to ezine articles and link to your blog. Targeted traffic brings the sales.

Nothing beats unique content.

My suggestion: Post 90% of your articles on your blog, Post 10% to other sources for backlinks to your blog.

That with some good ol'fashioned BH marketing and you should be pretty good.

I would also suggest taking some time to find some low-competition keywords in the credit/bankruptcy niche....its a tricky one.

Best idea. you won't be disappointed surely. But try to get specific niche for blogging to get targeted visitors.

yes post articles that your unique on your blog. Write some more unique articles and submit them to ezinearticles and other article directories with a link to your blog. This should give you the backlinks to improve your rankings and more traffic.

Trends still works. Two keys:
-Get domain rank any way you can, so when the term pops you can outrank others gunning for the same term. The terms are so fresh, that no one has time to build anchor text to it (by then, the trend has usually passed), so its key to outrank on domain PR and strength.
-ALOT of trends and current events are not monetizable at all. Be selective.

Niche is your key here, if you want great traffic for you blog. We have some good souls here who posted great niche guides. Check them out while it's hot.

See Mahalo.com as an example. They've done the whole building domain rank thing so whenever a new current event comes out, their page ranks near the top.

If you can write so well(as is apparent from your post) why don't you work on a few pro blogs. Get about five high paying niches and start some really good blogs.
Look for some nice themes and set up a few web 2.0 interaction apps like twitter and feedburner. Start getting visitors by commenting on relevant blogs and forums.

The difference between a pro blog and a normal blog(like you want) is that a pro blog has less daily content but the posts are of much higher quality.

The only problem is if you would want the money urgently or not...pro blogs take atleast 3 months to start making money. However, the have an excellent resell value and can generate alot more than just adsense money!

Think about it....You could start 2 pro blogs for the long term...and 1 short term average quality posts blog.
