Today when I saw this I was like: WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please take a look at this logo:

This logo was paid by romanian government to promote the tourism for one romanian county.


I think 90% of ANY bhw member can do a better logo..

What you got to understand , is how it works in Romania, The logo probably cost $5 on fiverr, the rest went into somebodies pocket

I am sure that happened. I mean, everyone knows that. But it's too much. Let's say, the logo price was 15,000?, and in someones pocket went 14,000? but 250,000?...
 
This reminds me of when the city I live in,spent $48,000 to learn how to accept utility payments on their website,Its a small city of 14,000. And when the local school board spent $50,000 to learn how to do video conferencing with other schools from around the world.
 
The way that works is the logo designer was paid 250,000 but he probably had to give 200,000 back as the kick back for getting the contract in the first place.

Are you sure they're not referring to the entire branding effort?

Marketing companies routinely get 250,000 for major clients looking to brand a new entity. This of course entails demographic data and market research - as well as testing various logos and implementing a brand recognition strategy.

Designer got 1000e or something like that, rest is shared by corrupted jerks who lead that ministry...
Same thing happens in Serbia all the time, some shitty sites are being paid 50k euro or more, I really doubt designers and coders get all that money.
 
It's normal that when government orders something to make it must cost lot's of money b/c they must have just anything (like logo, research for idiotic things etc), to hide that they still money

I was going to say the same thing. They might have even done it themselves and just pocketed the money.
