Recently I have been thinking of selling products locally. As in setting up a website, then buying some signs and set them in some very high traffic places in my area.

Then people would see the signs, check out my website, and buy what I am selling.

I've had some success in reselling fiverr services locally, although I can't say that I would be able to sell a product the same way.

What do you guys think.

It depends what kind of products are they, the place of your signs, to be honest i dont react much on the signs around, the reason if i need something i can find it on the net. The better thing would be to drop a poster in mail box for thousands of people, they open mail box every day to clean up the advertise or grab a newspaper and they will notice your offer without any doubt, the ones who are looking for it will be either hooked to look over or atleast will think about it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Mail marketing is a great way to get peoples attention.
 
That might work, the best way you could know more is by trying it out and taking the risk.
Just make sure nearby people don't remove your posters/signs and they stick there for a while.
 
Your marketing so so so flawed.

Simply setting up signs in high traffic areas and expecting people to pay attention to them simply does not work anymore, this is 2013.

Just like setting up a marketing system website, you need to hold their hand in an interactive way.

Instead you have to be interactive, offer deals, stand out from the crowd.
