Hi,

I just found out now the previous Google's bigger update was in June, somewhere around June 8.

Then it went trough my head one of my websites' traffic dropped a lot from June, however on June 22th.

This is a screenshot from webmaster tools:

So on June 22 my organic traffic dropped from about 5.5k clicks a day to 2.3k.

And from July until now I even built 5 PBN links from strong metrics expired domains, but seems like it doesn't help to recover a lost traffic back.

Anchor text profile is healthiest as it can be. The overall backlink profile as well.

I'm not sure why. All the content on my website is so HQ, informational , and when I compare it to competitors who now ranks higher then me, it is more quality then theirs for sure.

I just can't figure out why my website dropped in rankings.

Until June 22 it was ranked at positions 2-4 (It was dancing from day to day).

Right now it's located on 2nd page of Google within upper part.

It would motivate me to build more backlinks if those 5 latest PBN links moved it better even a little bit. But seems like more backlinks doesn't helps.

It's in a technology niche.

Just can't figure out what I need to do

Do you have some ideas?

Yup, Look like algo hit your website. The problem is that only you figure out what went wrong. If I am at your place, I will start with checking link profile and also see If there is any over optimization of keywords, plus few other factors.

hey can i ask what is the meaning of average position??

no i mean the photo you shared.what is meant by average position.because i'm a beginner ..Thanks

Oh :D .. That “11.7” means website’s average position on Google’s SERP was at 11th place. That’s 1st spot at page 2.

I was thinking, if it’s a penalty, wouldn’t it hit the site’s traffic completely, because this website is still getting 2k visitors a day from organic search.

If it’s a penalty, from my experience in past it kills a site’s traffic to 90% +
In this case it reduced it by around 50%

Doesn't look like a penalty to me either. Drops in traffic like this are usually just caused by a simple drop in rankings. Did you modify the page slightly or do any updates just prior to that. Of course it could be just the competition bumped you down a few places?
