From your experience, are fresh sites seeing more volatility before rankings settle compared to older domains?

In my experience, new domains take much longer to mature than they used to. It often takes quite a long time before Google starts rewarding websites on brand-new domains with traffic. This process can often be sped up if, in addition to search traffic, you drive traffic to your site from social networks, Reddit, and other social platforms. But if you rely only on search traffic, it may take far too long.

It seems like Google is testing new domains more actively, especially with pandemic-era shifts in search behavior and AI signals.

There are signs that Google is testing newer domains more frequently, especially as search behavior evolves and AI signals play a larger role.

Yes, I’ve noticed fresh sites can be more volatile initially. After a few weeks of consistent content and clean links, rankings tend to settle.
