I haven´t run any test on this but I am 100% sure Google can detect AI-generated content. In fact, I think this whole wave of AI writing tools was a big motivator for the "spam" algorithm update launched recently by Google.
What makes me so sure Google is fully capable of detecting AI-generated content?
One of the biggest flaws in these tools is their lack of "factually correct" statements.
This is NOT always true and it varies from topic to topic but generally speaking, AI writing tools are just not capable at this time to write factual correct articles.

As you can see, one thing is to generate "readable" or "human-like" content and another is that the article is actually factual on point.
We need to take these tools for what they are...WRITING ASSISTANT!!....and nothing more.
So, I believe if used correctly they can surely speed up the content creation process but in no way do I believe they should replace humans, at least not for now.
