Is it a good idea to teach about crypto in schools and colleges now ? Crypto has already become mainstream and getting accepted by majority of people all over the world.

God no.

That'd be quite hilarous if that happened though.

Imagine having a whole class of 12 year old crypto bros.
Next thing is that you'd hear a 9 year old telling you how he 'escaped the rat race' by investing in some useless meme coin.

Stupidity of humans knows no borders.
Once the CBDC's will be out and later the 15 min cities added people will understand what major mistake they made losing their financial freedom by going virtual because of their greed and lack of thinking

These fckers will regret that! CBD > CBDC!!

nice topic
yes according to trend we should must learning about crypto and 1 period in school for learning about blockchain and crypto

I do not believe this is a good idea and there are many problems who will be the expert that will spend time teaching kids? will that person accept a regular salary 9-5 when could make that same ammount in 10 minutes maybe and get 50 times that salary at the end of the day :anyway:

more important to teach economics than crypto. kids are notoriously irresponsible with money, so what do you think they do with crypto? they eff everything up. rarely do you see the 12 year old crypto millionaire.

I have a basics of entrepreneurship in middle school at my country. So this is where yoi can stuff it.

I believe that if someone is into economy they'll learn about crypto anyways.

What's the point before mid school? They can learn on their own.

My 14 year old brother (now 17 year old) taught it himself.

Well, he tried to develop smart contracts at the age of 16 as he learned cpp at school.

After making his first money with NFTs and helping people exhange bitcoin to paypal or vice versa.

I tried to do that smart contracts for a few weeks or so as I contacted him. It seemed like a giant waste of time as he didn't have any audience.

The complexity of Blockchain and web 3 is insane. A kid could drown in it and become a gambler early on.

Do you want all kids to be introduced to such risky schemes at an early age? You'd increase general frustration and instability in society.

Game development and crypto development are similar traps. They'll take years to get basic level of understanding them as most people don't have necessary basics to understand it (math, cryptography, finances, programming, economics). For games you also need physics and a lil bit more.

If kids start making money with crypto, it will give them the idea that making money is complicated. I would rather teach them selling lemonade.

I think how to invest in general and real economics need to be taught

Certainly learning about the tech behind crypto is more beneficial than learning about 'gender studies' or whatever crap is being taught these days, no?
