Simple fundamental laws of physics, nothing travels faster than the speed of light.
So if we don't leave this planet and establish off-world viable colonies within the next say 500 years earths resources will be exhausted in say 1000 years and that's the end of humans.
which means we had space travel capacity for 300 years ??
We are a very very weak species, we have a short useful life compared to a tree or steam engine.
We are fragile and have no back up systems.

Just as a side note, its more likely we will discover that there was some time in earths past an advanced civilization right here than be visited by Zeno's. And that's really unlikely.
