Do you struggle with efficiency when you’re bored?

I’m curious to see what your guys’ experiences are.

For me, when I am bored with work, I am still disciplined enough to not procrastinate/ keep doing my work.

However, I find that my efficiency tanks. For example, let’s say I’m finding clips to use in a Facebook video ad for ecommerce.

I may mindlessly scroll through YouTube search or google search pages for 3 hours to find clips, even though I realize “huh this isn’t very efficient”.

instead, I could try to find a more efficient strategy like:
1. Come up with a list of different queries to search
2. Use a different query after scrolling past first 5 pages
3. Look at aliexpress, alibaba, and other wholesale websites.
4. Spy on competitor websites to see if I can take some of their clips

Since I’ve come up with a better strategy, it may now take me 1 hour only to find the clips I need.

However when I’m bored, the last thing I want to do is brainstorm a strategy and I end up being really inefficient.

do you guys struggle with this?

Yeah when I work at home, I end up jacking off. So I try to work at public places.

I’m at a coworking space so if I jacked off id probably get kicked out.

I don’t have a problem with procrastination. mainly just doing things really inefficiently… I guess I was being vague in my post so I’ll edit it to be more clear

I noticed hitting up at gym before work helps a lot. You should try that.

No, I don't . when i feel bored , i go for rest . money is not the important thing . i have time to seek money , i also need time to have a rest.

it ends up taking me 4 hours because I’m doing something inefficiently.

If I stopped to think about how I could edit more efficiently, it might take me 2.5h instead.

But I just don’t want to think cause I’m bored, and so I end up doing things inefficiently.

I go to the gym everyday. It helps, but boredom is inevitable at times and its hard to be efficient when I’m bored

that's exactly what I have been doing.
Very ambitious to start with, then I start to browse something horny, then I am turned on and ... go back to bed because I get exhausted .

At the end of the day, 0 efficiency.

I work Monday thru Friday and when i get bored idk .. i just end up living everything to the weekend .. and then you see me working on a saturday trying to catch up with everything i didnt do during the week.

If you are a visionary but easily get bored then you can recruit employee to do the boring stuff. But if you are a lone wolf then try to use kanban board combined with podomoro timer

Yup you guys are right. Ain’t no way I’m quitting because it’s boring. I will hire a team in the future but right now I gotta do the boring shit myself first to make $

I am a “lone wolf” in the sense that I work solo. I’m also a “lone wolf” cause I don’t socialize at all, which makes boring things even harder to do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
