Do you strictly follow SEO tools or not?

Any tool that analyzes our articles verifies the existence of some conditions such as the presence of the focus keyword in the title, in the meta description, at the beginning of the article, and so on.

There are some that I can't respect or do so I have to ruin the quality of my article: for example, insert the focus keyword on subheadings, or have a high density by repeating it many times in the article even if it's not necessary.

How do you behave? What are the fundamental rules and those that can possibly be ignored?

On page seo is more or less same for most tools. Take all the things you mentioned above as suggestion, don't follow them to the tee. 70 score on renkmath can rank to top 1, 100 score may not rank in top 10.
 
I never blindly follow the guidelines of SEO tools like Yoast or RankMath. I focus more on finding a balance between creating content that is really useful for visitors and at the same time doing onpage SEO.

If when you try to follow the guidelines from SEO tools and you feel the results reduce the quality of your article, I don't think you need to force to follow the guidelines from SEO tools.

I even have experience creating articles that don't care at all about what SEO tools say, but the articles I create get good rankings from Google.

Completely ignore it won't cause any impact. That recommendations are completely outdated. Nowadays I have not found a single tool I can rely on.
 
Focus on the presentation and content provided to the end-user, this will keep you safer than relying on seo tools.
 
I do not follow each and every thing that these SEO tools suggest, but I have now habituated to follow some practices like -

Placing the focus keyword in the beginning of the article
Placing the focus keyword in the beginning of the URL
Placing the focus keyword the fixed number of times in the article, etc.

The list is long and the thing is I am habituated to this now.

At the same time it is a fact that I do not follow each and every instruction that the tool suggests. It is just a matter of self judgement and you can decide it by yourself. I do not claim that following the above mentioned practices is a MUST thing. Instead, one should use their own judgement.
 
You don't need to follow everything SEO Tools say, it's just a guide.

OP just find a balance between seo tools and your own initiative
 
SEO rules are bullsh*t. I have tried everything in the past and nothing impacts your rankings. Just make your content user friendly.

You will focus on high quality content that will attract your visitors and also use keyword but not too much, used whenever needed.
 
You can ignore it these recommendations are very old now I can't find any that I can trust
