Do you still install software just to edit PDFs, or do you use online tools now?

Mostly online tools now, way faster and no install
 
Online tools are handy but I'm worried about privacy.

I only use them for less sensitive files.

More sensitive should be handled offline in my opinion.
 
If you will edit lots of documents daily, my opinion is that you will install software for offline use...

In online tools, there is an issue that your privacy will be compromised if you edit an important PDF document
 
Depends on what I’m doing. For simple edits - definitely online tools. But for important files only software
 
ilovepdf and smallpdf handle most basic stuff without installing anything. If you're doing heavy editing regularly then Adobe Acrobat or PDF-XChange are worth it, but for occasional edits there's no reason to install software anymore.
 
It depends on the pdf. I just finished a campaign with 50+ pdfs. I used ai to make a syle guide, a content guide, and a list of needed pdfs. I used claude code to make image generation prompts for chatgpt. I used claude code to make a python engine to make the pdf names and exif data seo strong. then with claude code auto generated all the pdfs. so not really online, and not really dedicated software either.
 
These days who even installs stuff just for pdf anymore? Online tools are totally where it's at for me, so much easier and faster when you just need to tweak something real quick without all the fuss
 
Plenty of online tools out there, I don't see any reason to use software
 
I still have nitropdf in my laptop. easy to use and cheap. Offline software very useful if you are not around or don't have internet access at that moment
