I started working online because I loved the flexibility and freedom. But over time, it’s easy to feel like every day blends together.

Do you still enjoy it as much as when you started, or has it turned into more of a daily grind?

Curious to hear honest thoughts from others who’ve been in the game for a while.

I still like working online, but some days it gets tiring when things don’t go the way I want.

both. though it would only be worse if i didnt. i am more than grateful that i get to work on projects on my own time and live with the benefits of working online. for many years there were instability that came with that but it is a price i happily would pay again

I am really glad you asking this. I just started freelancing a few weeks ago and I am already wondering if this is normal or if I need to change my approach.

I have this feeling from time to time and there are 2 ways to handle this: a) you either remember your hard times and a much worse job, or b) work for a day/two at such a job.
The harder it is, the more anger you produce. And your anger is an unlimited source of energy.

That’s a really relatable question. For a lot of people who start working online, the flexibility feels incredible at first no commute, control over your schedule, and the sense that you’re building something on your own terms. But yeah, over time, the lines between work and life can blur, and the novelty fades.

It’s not that the freedom disappears it’s just that maintaining balance and motivation takes more deliberate effort. Many people find they have to create structure within that freedom: things like setting real work hours, making space for offline hobbies, or changing up their environment so every day doesn’t feel identical.

I still work online, but I'm not enjoying it like before. TBH

It was easier to make money online in past. Now you have to keep looking for new methods always. Only the tough will survive.

Totally get what you mean that “every day blending together” feeling is real.

At first, the freedom of online work feels amazing no commute, full control of your time, working from anywhere. But after a while, that same flexibility can turn into a weird kind of monotony. Without structure or clear boundaries, days start to feel the same, and it’s easy to lose that spark that made it exciting in the first place.

You get very used to it. It is very difficult to focus and control yourself in order to work. There is no distinction between rest and work, and as a result, the day merges into one. And by the end of the day, you realize that you haven't really worked or spent time with your family.

I absolutely love it. It gives me the flexibility to be where I want to be and to handle the other things in my life on my terms. Having to go into an office with a fixed working hours leads to a really terrible work-life balance even if you salary is pretty huge. I was working in an office for a high salary and I left it to start some projects of my own and my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner.
