In 46bc the Julian calendar was created which included an extra day in February every 4 years.

It was later refined by the Gregorian calender in the 16th century before being later adopted by Britain and her colonies in the 18th century.

The Mayan date has been and gone and unless I'm dead and don't know it, I think it's fair to say Bollocks
