Never existed when I used the internet overall I heard about it being another of Google many failed businesses but never used it myself
 
A single feature gave a competitive edge to Facebook over Orkut. While Orkut was business oriented and wanted everything professional, it didn't go well with younger audience. Everyone can check who viewed their profile. Then came Facebook which had hardcore perverts behind it who initially used the platform to rate hot girls in their college. They understand the pulse of the younger audience and removed this feature. This opened the flood gates of stalkers to join the platform and it eventually became popular. Hiding profile views is so popular that every social media platform does it even now.

Orkut was a better G+ which is like Facebook business page. Yes profile views limited posting content. Only company knows which makes them liable to be open about it. At least those in public interest instead of using it their own interest.
