Do you pay your taxes?

if you're banking it, who the hell cares,.. pay those taxes keep the man of your back cause he will come knocking on your door eventually.

I pay taxes because I don't want to end up in prison.
The ones boosting about not paying taxes are probably just kids making $5 per day. If you're banking hard it's impossible not to get caught and end up in the slammer.

In the good myspace layouts era I was earning well over 30k a month... gov didn't see a fucking penny from it

At the end of the day I have been in the internet business since 2001 in the UK and now the last 5 years in Spain and I haven't paid a single penny in tax, I dont believe in paying tax, I did that many years ago in the UK whilst having a job but once I had to leave my job for personal circumstances, the fucking government didnt wanna help me, so in the end i sais fuckit, im going alone in my own business and fuck the government...I have my own private health insurance which is worldwide and cheaper than paying my fucking nhs taxes in the UK or Spain, at the end of the day I dont exist either in the UK or Spain and thats how i fuckin like it...fuck taxes and fuck the governments...they are all a bunch of wankers!!! RANT OVER...where's my fuckin' whiskey gone to???

I have no idea how to pay the taxes:D,can somebody explain for me...btw i will never pay them:)

No I don't pay taxes, I bid up my expenses so high that I get a tax credit for my efforts =)

Taxes are like hybrid cars.
All should use them, some thinks that they are better because they drive them, and all will support them.

I support them too, but I will never drive one. I will drive 6 litre SUV with huge smile on my face.

Pay taxes and be happy. Do not pay taxes and be happy. Whatever. Each of the 2 groups will never understand each other.

I do pay taxes, but probably about a 1/3 less than I should.

I tend to write off things that I use in my personal life, and not exclusively for the business.

For instance, I bought a 1,500$ TV and wrote it off, citing that I hook my work PC up to it, for work. While I do really do this, I've done it maybe 5 times.

Write offs are definately good. You can write off anything, just keep in mind if you get audited, some things just done qualify for write offs. Anyway, paying taxes is the best thing to do.

Not a single fucking penny :)

Good man. Me personally, neva. The way I see it, Jesus was against the tax collectors hence I must follow in the steps of my fuhrer and do the same. Death to the tax man! (hiding ip, jk)

YES, you can write of a LOT of things, especially in Internet Marketing, and as a self employment.

Furthermore, if you already started working on your own, but not making that much money, you can go for a "from time to time" job, just for insurance, and stuff. At least, this is how you can do it in Germany, not sure about the US, as I think you have problems with proper health insurance :o

Anyway, if you really want to go Blackhat, and make enough money, go to a second or third country! There you won't have to pay taxes like you have to pay in Germany. You could even skip all the taxes with right connection.

I for myself pay taxes atm, as I'm working with German businesses a lot.

No choice, must pay it. But I would like to pay only 10% of whatever I pay because our politicians eat the rest 90% and maybe only 10% drips down for the nation. It's like helping the corrupt people become more corrupt legally.

Got caught once and now I'm paying. Too much, over 50000 EUR in 2010 :( It sucks, but it does make me sleep better though.

Just as a suggestion to everyone... If you don't want to pay your taxes, its your thing... Just don't flaunt it just in case someone's other job is an IRS agent... Would it just be totally hilarious, yet kinda depressing, if you got busted from like um, lets see, saying you don't pay (all of) your taxes??? LMAO, i would laugh...

most of you guys writing it off as an expense have established businesses correct? guessing individuals can not do that

I pay all the taxes that I have legally accrued. I spend a great deal of time making sure I don't legally accrue taxes in the future ;)

Its not about write offs. Its about being able to shift your income. What you want to do is shift your income so it is earned by an offshore business entity located in a tax haven. Then you pay yourself like 10k salary which you report to the IRS and pay taxes. Any profit earned by the business entity is ENTIRELY separate from you. Your business entity will be taxed according to the tax laws of the nation it is incorporated in. If that nation has 0% taxes then you pay no taxes, legally.

You have to remember that you and your business entity are considered separate entities. Anytime money flows to you personally then it will be taxed on your personal income tax return. As long as the money stays in the business's control then it will not be taxed. The second that money is spent on you (in any form, be it goods/services or cash) then it is taxed.

I pay taxes but by that time there is usually no gains so i usually end up paying something symbolic.

Some people you simply do NOT play around with-the IRS is one of those people. If you live in the US, just pay your taxes. Life will become a living nightmare if you receive a letter from them stating you owe xxxxx amount of money. Believe me I am speaking from experience:(
