Do you need views to rank on YT ?

Hello everyone !

I was wondering do we actually need fake views/likes to rank newly uploaded vids , can't that be done through SEO only ? i mean we build linkbacks to the video , it ranks good in google SERPS , but does it rank on YT ?

I know it helps alot , but i was thinking , that besides it costs $$$ , You'll have waaaay more chances to get banned , i was thinking of making High quality videos , that will rank overtime ( Any thought of how long it'll take to see it rank ?) , and will be there for years , i plan to build good backlinks , Solid SEO , and No Views/Likes/Favs/Subs , all natural .

What do you think guys ?

Might be a better long term strategy. Personally I'd go with some fake views for the jump start. Maybe lay off after you get some SEO buzz. Just my two cents. I've never had a video banned on a good youtube account for fakeviews only.

Generally the more views, likes, favorites and comments, the better the video will rank. Sending backlinks to the video on top of that will further increase rankings.

views is the most important factor but you need also comments and likes and even shares
all that stuff is used by YT ranking algo

I haven't been able to get anything to rank solely from SEO in anything that's medium to high competition. Nor have I had any accounts banned from fake views and I've used views on old and solidified accounts as well as day old accounts, so I think you're alright there!

Most of the videos we stumble upon on YouTube have lots of views. They get seen more.

I've bought some Fiverr gigs that have gotten my videos 100,000 views and shortly after I've hit page 1 of Google for local terms. So i'd say reviews do help alot.
