Do you need a VPS & Proxies?

Hey all,

Couldn't find much when I used the search feature. My question is this: for account safety, do you need to use a VPS as well as proxies? Or is a VPS sufficient enough? I'm scaling up from around 6 accounts to about 15.. Will be using GreenCloud VPS. Not sure if I need to provide more info for someone to answer this.. Hope someone can help me out :)

Proxies are mandatory, a VPS is not... Each account should have its own IP address - hence why proxies are required. A Virtual Private Server is a windows machine at a data center running 24/7. These can be upgraded with tons of ram. Or you can use your own home machine if it is big enough. For many people a huge server is required, but others only doing 2 or 3 accounts.. Instragress may be the cheapest and best automated option. If you choose to get a VPS, it will come with 1 IP address. Using this IP address on too many accounts will get them all banned quickly.
 
Private proxies are 100% necessary.

Remember, every account is meant to look like an individual user/profile.

The only way is to have a private proxy for each account.
 
Good choice, I have a vps with GreenCloudVPS also, they got very fast servers, although it's not needed for me it's like having an extra computer that is on 24/7.

Proxies, some will run 2-3 accounts on a proxy but I play it safe, I see 1 proxy as 1 person.
 
Thank you all for your input. I've been running five accounts on my home computer for about two months now with no problems. The reason I need a VPS is because I don't have a Windows computer and I've been running parallels on Mac to use MassPlanner. I'm tired of having to leave my computer on (notebook) 24/7 to run MassPlanner. I will have to get some proxies as well when I get the VPS setup. Since I've been running five accounts off of one computer/IP address this whole time.. Theoretically I can use 2-3 accounts per proxy.. Right?
 
It depends on the quality of the proxy. From SSLPrivateProxies their IG Virgin Proxies are the most expensive but can do numerous 2-5, the cheaper proxies may only allow 1 or 2.... But that said, 1 to 1 is always the best if you can afford it
 
Proxies are only necessary if you want to manage more than 5 accounts, you can have up to 5 accounts on one IP with no issues if you are not going too fast.
A VPS is only convenient because it runs without your computer 24/7 so it is recommended but not mandatory.
Instead of using proxies you could also get more IPs to the VPS and route them accordingly so every account has a new IP.
Make sure the IPs accessing Instagram are not flagged in any way. Use lesser known providers for this.

If you are only ig botting you need ram not bandwith. Getting ram on a vps can get expensive.

That's not the worst idea, it's something I've given thought to. Let's say I do buy a cheap PC, what kind of specs would I need on it to be able to support me as I scale up? Right now I'm only doing five, planning on scaling that up soon. But what about when I'm running 100? Would the mini PC be able to handle all of that? Also, even though my IP is getting masked through proxies, will my internet speed take a hit with that many accounts?

It depends on what your aproach is.

For example if your bots are only posting/following/liking/unlike/retweet then your internet should be fine.

If you are going hard and using 100 proxies on 100 threads to do all of the above along with 24/7 scraping, then your internet connection will be tested.

Same goes for the mini pc. If your just performing basic tasks on a schedule, then anything with an intel i3 or higher with 4gb ram will go a long way.

But hours of scraping will eat lots of ram.
