I am not too sure if this was a prank or a real call, lol

this was such a bad cold call, very seventies

If it was real, seemed to have worked out very well.

Maybe it's me but this looks like this dude was in training(hence the video) and the guy on the other end of the phone was just his trainer behind the camera. Why the HELL is this on You Tube? This is retarded!

Yeah, he was pretty nervous LOL.

If you're calling a small list, you wouldn't hire this guy. He'd burn through leads -- though I'm sure with practice he'd be aiiight.

And I'm not a big fan of the passive tone... the whole, "have you heard of us?", "Maybe you'll be interested", "we can be good for your company" doesn't fly.

When you're booking appointments, you need to be straight to the fucking point.

1) What we've got (marketing services)
2) Here's what it will do for you (get you clients, save you money)
3) Here's what you need to do next (be there for when I drop by on Monday at 2pm)

OT-

The worse kind of cold calling to do is business 2 consumer! Folks hate being cold called, and they can be down right nasty! I did some telemarketing for a roofing company - SHADY business BTW, and it was awful trying to get people to believe that they might have hail damage, and that they might be able to get a new roof for the low!

I've never had a business curse at me, slam the phone in my face, or talk ish to me. They seem to just want to know if what you have is BS or a benefit to them, then they ask about cost.

B2B sales FTW!

Both that caller and that advertising manager needs to be better trained, jesus Obviously if that is a telemarketer manager training their employee, they are being passive and not trying to push his limits like real businesses do.. what would the kid do if the guy immediately said he wasn't interested? cry?

This call would never work in the real world because he would have never gotten past the first 10 seconds of the call.

Agreed, this is a script that seems like it'll work, but you'd get shut down in an instance by a business owner.

The voice is, boring I guess. He also doesn't seem very interested in the service he is providing. But you can't ace it the first time, with work it'll become better!

I would only ever allow a sales person to conduct cold calling. They generally have right balance of persistance and arrogance and the correct amount of cheesiness :)
....& i would only take a sales team on purely on a commission basis.
