I am not rich but neither like very poor. I am okay. if someone calls me Sir. i hate it, i dont like it dont know why
I dont like it, they are probably giving respect because they know me, they are changing themselves or saying it fake just because if they have any benefit or wanting to make me know that i am a good person and maybe they will have any benefit from me.
For example i go to shop to buy something, he Call me as a sir but when all other person approaches i hardly think or able to know if he calls someone a sir.

I was on holiday in Dubai in 2012, and there I heard someone call me Sir. I was walking into a restaurant and the butler said Welcome Sir.
I was about to laugh, but I smiled anyway.
In Finland, it is not customary to say Sir, Mister, or Mistress. So it´s new to me and everyone else who lives in Finland.
If I get emails from people selling something, and there is Sir. I mostly laugh and think WhattaFuck I see...

In England, at Leeds, I was called Darling by an elderly woman, and that was quite a shock. I almost felt sexually harassed.
But I heard many say that, and it´s some way good way - behavior..

But yeah, I don't really like to call my Sir. Of course he person don´t know my name, so of course he has to start the directing the question somehow.
Maybe its better than Hi Gay! You Gay!

Yeah, because that way I recognize a scammer
not like it is always.
I think like if i am rich and if i see someone they are struggling hard, i approach them trying to be with them to help them in any way if i can possibly, then if they says or calls me as a sir, it is good and helping them if you can.
If someone is really in need of a job they can also say you as a sir and can do good job at work
if someone need you dont have to see everyone as a scammer, even slightest giving a job to someone is great and also also if they dont ask for any upfront or says pay after work, then definitely i dont think any scam will be really going to happen

Depends on the circumstances, doesn't it? Like if you're in a nice restaurant or you've just received a knighthood.

I prefer it to being called bro, anyway.

Sir makes me feel old, but I understand that they said it with respect, so I will just tell them they can call me by my first name instead. No correction needed if it is only 1 interaction like in business.

It's normal for some to call you sir
Because it's cultural from their own perspective
Have a few people call.me.that

Yup it is good thing. But sometimes the way of saying it for a reason is there sometimes and sometimes not, we have to find it. Are they really admiring and considering you a sir and giving all the respects of a sir , they meant it. Anyways.. We should take it as love and take it in a positive way always
