Just curious.
I think they want to build up their board so invite a lot to join ?

See, group boards are a great way to get your visible Pins to thousands of Followers.

I use group boards as a great tool to use for my accounts and my clients. Let's imagine you have 1000 Followers, and you get to join boards with 30000 Followers, then those followers are now indirectly yours. When you post on that group board, your Pin will get visible to 30000 followers. So, boards are a great tool. But if you get invited for a group board, then don't join it without reviewing it. After the new Pinterest algorithm update, Pinterest seems to like those who have specific boards, boards that are related to what they are Pinning.

Anyway, if you are a brand, then you must make an image around a specific thing your business does. It doesn't matter for a common Pinterest user to stick to one topic. Today they are doing a DIY project so that they will look for DIY group boards and DIY project Pins. The next day they are captivated with comfortable Payjammas that they can wear at home to make them feel comfortable in this COVID work from home situation.

So, don't join every group board you get invited to. If you join every group board, then it's sure that your account ranking might get down, and if that board is spammy and you somehow engaged with it, then your account can come into Pinterest radar.

Tip:- Keep all of your board updated. It will help your boards rank on Pinterest.

Only if they are interested in the board's niche. Check for active users following boards similar to your board.
