Hello all,
i was wondering how do you guys deal with eye problems.I mean working for 8+ or 12+ hours a day is a total pain for your eyes.So how do you deal with it?Better monitor, glasses and/or taking regular breaks...I wear glasses, that are adjusted for a long computer usage, but still feel that burning sensation if i stay for more than 10 hours,no matter if i take a break for 5 mins every hour or so.I changed diopter a few weeks ago,but definitely don't want to put another after a few months, thus making my eyes look i'm an owl.
So,please share what's working for you?I know most of us here spend at least 4-5 hours each day in front of the comp...
Thanks!

My eyes dont burn even if i stay at the computer for over 15 hours. Just take a shot of Sambucca to the eye. That will make them burn for 2 minutes then you will feel fresh lol when the alcohol gets into your bloodstream.

:D

Take a 30 minute nap after 8-10 hours of work. That is what I do anyway.

Thanks OP for the thread. Even my eyes burn especially when stretching it out to 40 hours continuous on computer. Suggestions will help.

here's some things I do

- two monitors (or laptop and monitor) with the distance to the screens offset by at least a foot (ie 1 screen 2 feet from you, another 3 feet from you) - this helps exercise the eye muscles that adjust for distance and focus
- I use workrave - free program that you can set to have a note come up every 10-15 minutes to stop for 30 seconds. When you're looking away from the screen, look off into the distance somewhere to help your eyes keep adjusting
- I use normal eyes for about 60% of the day, a set of yellow glasses for about 30%, and sunglasses for 10% of the day, it helps the eyes adjust back and forth to different lighting conditions
- take lunch / break somewhere away from screens

As strange as it may be, after workin some 10-12 hours I take a shower close my eyes and relax in the shower, then I can do more. after this if u wanna keep up every 6-7 hours, then 5-6,.... etc

Thanks for the replies. What about the monitor?Which do you prefer and think is the best to use?I am particularly interested in the 120 Hertz monitors(currently have two at 75 Hertz),but if you feel a difference i'll have to buy one.
