Do you have a psychological problem or illness?

I have severe depression, anxiety, panic attacks etc.. but when I drink alcohol my depression is disappearing... I don't know why but alcohol helps me, however, unfortunately it is a temporary solution.. And antidepressants didn't work for me.

Running isn't an option, get help from the professionals.

Yes, when I used to suffer from panic attacks, the only thing which would get rid of them is beer, after about three Stella, I could not get one. However the hangover in the morning made my panic attacks five times worse. I eventually got rid of them by taking beta blockers, would not recommend antidepressants.

Alcohol is a temporary solution only if you stop drinking it, so you know what to do.

I see the whole globe as a psychological problem!!! either way I used to smoke Cigarillos NON filter about five a day just for a chill out, the good thing is you don't get that much addicted as with normal fags!!!
but if it is really that bad op, I HIGHLY suggest that you change certain things in your life, especially these things what bothers you most and work your list down

peace

Ditto!! i feel good when i have alcohol. though lately i got some stomach injection which dosent allow me to drink any more :) I think i have this depression because half and year im always on computer, my life is like me and my computer, as other other half i keep travelling a lot so im fine.

anyway i think its not bad until you dont drink too much and sorry i cannot say how to get rid of depression

That's stress dude. Everyone has it. I face the exact same problems, but not too severely as I have a social life being in a 10-7 job. I am not saying you should also do that but having some kind of social life helps you to relax the stress. Don't keep it all within yourself. Alcohol rocks as a stress reliever but as you said, only temporarily. So avoid drinking to kill stress.

Edit: Yeah, there's nothing wrong in consulting a doctor. Don't take anti depression pills without doctor's advice. It can be addictive sometimes.

naw. well i used to have a lot of depression when i went to school because of stress. but then i reached the age of reason, dropped out, and am happier than ever =)

forget yoga and meditation, they didnt help me. find out what you love doing, make it your lifeblood, and your psyche will take care of itself.

Dude almost everybody encounters similar problems at some point in their life, I guess that's normal. But, alcohol won't be a good solution. As others already said, increase your social life, get a new hobby etc.
As of my experience there are more or less long stages in your life where you feel bad, but they always lead to a better stage.

I think most people have a psychological problem. Some have small problems and some bigger. I've learned that what matters is how you look at it and where you get your happiness from.

I agree with silvermember, you should make changes. Change one thing at a time and see how it affects you. Make the change temporary ("I will only change for one week and then I can quit") to make it easier.

Best of luck OP!

Thanks for the replies..

Please seek a professional psychiatrist - he/she will have the best answer for you.

My psychiatrist just gave me antidepressants, and medication made me worse than before.

Alcohol amplifies anxiety and depression once it wears off that's why people become alcoholics. I found that running daily, smoking fire OG in the evenings and most importantly never working over the weekend are the best ways to avoid stress and depression.

Seriously though, here are a few suggestions:

1) Get a puppy or a kitten. Pets make you feel better.

2) Breathe slowly and deeply from your stomach.

3) See if you can volunteer to help at a Children's Cancer ward.
You might think it would be depressing, but it isn't. On the
contrary, you will appreciate life more and have more gratitude.

Sometimes to appreciate our lives when need to recognize just how bad others have it too.

I agree with the suggestions of charity work. Charity is good for the soul and your physical heart. You
solve problems in your own life by taking the action of helping others through volunteering. You'll meet
some wonderful people too.
