I'm trying to be careful in building links for my website in the gaming niche, however I'm having a hard time figuring out where and how to safely build links.

I am spending a lot of time on Google trying to find other websites to comment and somehow build backlinks on but I cannot seem to find ways to relevantly link to my site.

Do you guys ever have this issue? And would you guys have any suggestions for figuring out good ways to safely build links? The only other thing I can think of is creating somewhat related web 2.0's that point to my gaming site/pages. And maybe can create content on the web 2.0 that's a bit more relevant to some of the other websites I find.

There isn't a single answer. The trick is to get creative. Read this article that was posted today. It might at least help spark some creative ideas.

If you are building links to get direct traffic, stay on the relevant train. If you are thinking relevant links are important for seo, think again. Just choose GOOD sites for links and forget about GAMING if ranking is your goal.

I usually try to stay relevant but it's almost impossible to get enough relevant links to get any real rankings. Just use good links and try not to spam too much too fast.

    No issue

Usually if the link you gain provides some sort of value to the internet then you should be good. Basically if you are able to place a link on a site simply because you created a profile I'd say this is a waste of your time.

Focus on earning your links rather than building them

Guest posting has gotten me half my links in a few weeks. Its slow and sometimes frustrating but it is worth it for getting links from sites which don't link content too regularly.

Look for niche relevant blog posts and websites you can buy links from.

The best way to build links for SEO is to build links that give you quality traffic, so that means you should focus only on relevant sites, as most of the above replies say, and don't be afraid to pay for them and even track the direct ROI you get from that link/traffic.

I'm sure you have tried all the things that use to work in the past and they aren't working for you anymore.

Well, most of those things still work.

First and foremost, avoid Fiverr for SEO, it's the least place any sane person would want to look.

The combination of methods that still works are:

    Contextual links

    Ensure it's a quality link
It should be relevant if you can
    Content must be unique
Keep the OBL less than 20 - That's why i say don't buy from Fiverr, they sell to thousands.

    Backlink strategies that works are:

Guest post, certainly not the type been sold. They are already spammed to death.
    Quality and moderated comment
    Outreach
Private network, the site must be of high quality and less than 5 OBL.

Building links for traffic would be great. But it would also be nice to build them just to build links and improve my link profile and SEO.

Do you guys have any advice for creating links on unrelevant sites? I have a hard time visualizing how to post on relevant websites because I feel it always looks too spammy.

Edit: I definitely gotta try out guest posting though. I've never done it before. Is it hard? I'd be worried the other site owner wouldn't like my content. Seems like it takes forever for me to create articles too. Spent like 4 hours trying to create one today and only at 400 words lol

    And what is outreach?

    1) unrelated sites: Post link with just your url at the end but add a relevant/beneficial comment if you're dropping blog comments.
    2) outreach is emailing similar sites to guest post or post a link on their site for you, typically because your content is linkworthy.

I'm doing the tech niche and I use forums to get traffic and backlinks. It requirea some work but I'm very happy with the traffic and backlinks I get. Just look for the 10 biggest forums related to your niche and find threads related to your articles - take part in the discussions and try to build 10-20 per day.

If possible do some creative stuff to help people with your information and gain a link or else just buy some good service on BHW.( there are quite a lot solid back link services here)

I'd recommend you buy an aHrefs/Majestic subscription and start analyzing your competition. You might find a few linking opportunities for you, but more importantly you'll see the types of links that work these days. Do it in more than just one niche.

Build PBNs and send the link to your money site if you want to see quick results.
