Yes and this the reason most of members are hidden in our org including me.

It's a bit selfish for me to say, but I donate a lot because it makes me feel good. Sure it helps other people as well, but it's something that I feel that I owe the world. I dont know, I'm weird. What I do is, I fill up my trunk with bottles of water and canned food. I usually pull over and reach into my trunk and give them out to people asking for change or if they're sleeping on the side walk, I try to tuck it behind them for when they wake up.

You should first of all start donations with your family, is there anyone in your family who is less blessed than you are? Help them out.

If there's nobody in your family, then move on to your relatives and friends, neighbors, if you still don't find anyone, only then donate to charity foundations.

These foundations already receive a big amount of funding from corporations and millionaires, our little donation isn't going to make a difference, but it might make a difference in a relative/friend's ll

My dear, come to Mumbai ... I will personally introduce you to professional beggars whose bank balance & assets would make you go "Wow !!!". Huge bank balances & assets ... all earned by begging on the streets over the years. They now live in air-conditioned nice flats, drive good cars, but they still beg on the streets because it is what made them rich .... Do not classify all beggars under the same category. You want to know what all life can offer to people ? Come live in Mumbai for a few months, you will feel New York, London, etc are still in the medieval days, in terms of how creative people can be. And by the way, I have lived a few months in New York, London, Dubai and dozens of other big cities.

It can be hard to hide if your giving money and time to a local cause, and if you don´t place yourself on a podium, why hide it? Do you think that people look down on you, and giving to gain status? When your mind passes thru that kind of thinking, you don´t care about what others think, let them think that then, who the fck cares what people think of your agenda of giving. I met so much love in the community because of who I am, if someone thinks I´m just doing it for show, fck them, their problem. Be proud, and help people openly.

I don't donate regularly, but I do it every couple of weeks. Especially to animal shelters.

Donating fixed amount 50€ monthly (poor, kids, cancer) plus occassional purchase of local magazine that donates to homeless people.

I thought I was included in "we", my bad.

@WebMinati and I last year donated a % to a tree planting charity.

I personally donate to a couple of charities including a hospice.
My partner does a day a week pro bono for a charity here in Spain.

I along with the unpaid moderators donated a shitload of hours weekly on here, along with @Sephrata , @Heiko , @Veil123 and @davids355

I used to donate to a well known children's charity in the UK then I hit hard times with illness so had to cut back everywhere and stopped my donations to this charity, got a phone call asking why I stopped, I told them 'I need to put my children first, at the moment we are using foodbanks and buying 2nd hand clothes' the woman on the phone called me selfish! I ended up reporting her and apparently it wasn't her first time and was told she had been sacked.

Now I will only donate to local charities but haven't been able to for the last few years as things are still tight.
