Opportunities are much better: I have much faster internet connection, too many helpful tools and forums and information on the internet. Also customer potential is very high too, since too many social media and internet users.

However, competition is much higher and algorithms are much harder to beat too.

Back then in 2010, I think it was a lot easier to make money online. By just blasting backlinks, entering spun contents, blasting bots, or selling bots etc.

more competition, and a lot more people with money to burn come to the space.
so we compete not just with newbie, but those newbie with ton of money to burn....
add in those experienced, and alogirthm that keep updating their sabotage lol
 
Today I am going to launch my new bot to make money almost on auto-pilot.
That's why I also feel it harder between my legs...

yep, I've been crying about this for the last 3-4 years. Back then (2009-2011) I remember that I purchased MFA sites from PLR-based membership sites, upload them to my hosting, AS IS, submit the exact same content to EzinerArticles, GoArticles, ArticlesBase and SelfGrowth, and less than 30 days later I'd rank in google for those delicious long tail keywords and making $80-250 a month in Adsense... Damn, how I miss those days....

The thing is, that even today, 15-20% of the keywords that people type in google are still first-timers (as in, those keywords have never been typed in google before), so the opportunities are still there, but.... I don't know.... it's just way harder to find them and take advantage of them because google want everyone to be expert in whatever content they're putting out, which makes it so much harder for non-english speakers to rank and make money.

So yeah, it's definitely gotten harder, but we have to keep grinding... or find an offline job :)
 
It's normal....in 2010 the IM industry was fresh, not many people had the knowledge and the tools to make a good income online.....now to info is everywhere, you have one click tools for everything....people are born with a smartphone and an internet connection glued to their hands

When I was a teen I had to beg my parents not use the phone while I was downloading my favourite 2pac songs. A hq mp3 could take hours to download. Now you can do it in a blink.
 
Yes, it is harder, the positive though is if you find a reliable method, you can scale much faster exactly because of improved AI and systems compared to a decade earlier.
 
Well unfortunatelly yea its way more harder now .I remember in the past if i was able to deliver 100 or 200 hops to a good offer from clickbank i would get a sale .Now seems i need to brink 1k hops to an offer to hope i would make a sale .I think the competition its huge and people are bombarded and they see the offers many times
Also the economy in the world says his word .People are not spending so easy for an online course as they are afraid of losing their job ,thr rise of pricing the bad economy etc
 
Things were easier before; the barrier to entry was relatively high back then, so if you could crack the code, there was little to no competition.
 
Yeah, it was harder. people get knowledge easier and aware of more tools.
 
Yes, it is harder now as the competition is very high. It might get more harder in the future. Keep learning and work consistently.
 
The most difficulty nowadays comes from the sheer amount of competition in search. But with the increased amount of tech available at our fingertips I find it much easier to pivot off away from whatever everyone else is doing and put my own spin on things. Back in the day I'd have to write the tech myself, nowadays I can just quickly build on existing stuff and have my own USPs.
 
As the competition and the usage of internet gone to the peak, Google becomes more smarter than those days.
So it finds many ways to keep people informative without any spot of disappoinment even non-english users!
Thats why, with minimal amount of work and tools, it is becoming harder nowadays to make money online

Exactly! you are om point.

The thing is it's hard to find the right keyword with less competition. Once you are ready with right keyword and content strategy, its almost easy except for some hard niche like gambling, cbd, supplements
