    Do you mean using the facebook debugger like when you share a link.
    If so, I do using jquery. I never used to and my images and description would be missing from my shares/links, all that would show was the website name and link which looked terrible.

    Basically, the script below will debug the page when ever its viewed. Need to be using jquery, the first line gets the viewed url, the second line sends it to facebooks debugger.

    $(document).ready(function () { var url = window.location.href;

    $.post( "https://graph.facebook.com/?id="+encodeURIComponent(url)+"&scrape=true" );

    });

    Facebook checks URLs at certain intervals to determine its open graph property's.
    When a Facebook user includes a link in a post Facebook will display the open graph properties/meta data in the post, I.e the stuff you see in a Facebook share; picture, title, description, website etc.
    When you debug a URL using Facebooks tool, it updates the open graph property's immediately, rather than waiting for Facebook to check at its set interval. This helps as property's may change between scrapes, for example an image might get added to a URL which would be missing from a Facebook share until the page is either debugged or scraped by Facebook.

    interesting, thank you for the detailed response, so basically when you see a post you make not displaying properly you can do this and it will come up the way it should...

    Yeah, follow the link in the post above to use the debugger.
    It'll show you how Facebook is seeing your page.
