Do You Check Traffic Before Choosing a Guest Post Site?

While working in guest posting and outreach, I’ve noticed many people still choose sites mainly based on DR or DA.


But lately I’ve been paying more attention to organic traffic and niche relevance. Sometimes a lower DR site with real traffic seems to perform better than a high DR site that publishes content from every niche.


From my experience, traffic and relevance give a better signal of a site’s real value.


Just sharing my observation, curious what others usually check first when evaluating a guest post site.

I usually look at traffic and niche relevance first. A site with real organic traffic often has a stronger impact than a high dr site that publishes content from every niche. metrics like dr or da can still be useful, but they don’t always show the real value of a site.

from my experience, if a website gets consistent traffic and the content is relevant to the niche, the guest post tends to look more natural and performs better in the long run, especially for rankings in google.
 
no, I dont care. If I need backling for seo purposes then it doesnt matter even some theories people present to get more $ for such guest post.
Moreover I cannot check the traffic estimation from bing, ddg, socials, llms and other sources. Google is not everything.
I have some websites of my own, they get 1-2k daily traffic and Google is almost 0 in this. So does it mean these sites are pure sh*t?

If a site consistently attracts visitors interested in your topic, your guest post will have a greater impact and provide more SEO value.

Sometimes, lower DR sites with real traffic and proper niche alignment perform better than high DR sites that publish content across multiple niches but receive minimal engagement. That’s why I focus on a site’s real reach and community engagement, as these provide a clearer signal that posts are genuinely read and shared.

Ultimately, DR or DA should only serve as a supplementary filter. The primary decision should always be based on traffic and relevance, ensuring that your guest post not only benefits SEO but also reaches and engages real people.

Yes i do, and if you don't check it then you should do it because it matters. You should check the traffic and it's region, DA/DR, Spam rate and the link type before buying or posting a guest posts

Why would you buy from sites with 0 Google traffic and cannot rank for any terms?
 
traffic matters more than dr for me

high dr is useless if no one reads the site. niche relevance beats numbers every time

DR and DA are useful, but actual traffic and niche match tell you more about the site’s true value for guest posts.
 
I try to check all factors TA da and traffic and relevance but there is always a catch nothing is perfect so need to identify it from different sources how it can perform specially from competitors backlink .

Traffic is one of my top priorities when I choose a website for guest posts. Websites with good traffic will bring better results for guest post backlinks, that’s my experience.
 
Traffic and relevance every time, DR is too easy to manipulate. A DR 30 site with 5k real monthly visitors in your niche beats a DR 70 site with zero organic traffic and 50 different categories.
 
Yes, organic traffic and niche relevance are usually more reliable indicators than DR alone, since they show the site has real visibility and audience.
