I think it is very stupid to fool your customers, partners. Yes it can bring you some money in the short term, but looking in long term perspective you will lose. Remember only satisfied customers come back and bring MORE MONEY. So don't cheat, because if i catch you I will beat you :chairfall
I guess it depends on your definition of cheating:
1) Is breaking google ToS cheating? if so I imagine everyone registered to this forum "cheats" in some ways, as it is near enough impossible to do SEO without breaking one of googles rules
2) Is cheating breaking the law (I imagine far less people are guilty of this)?
Yeah, "cheating" is too vague. If you mean "cheating" as in gaming the system Google has put into place to better our search results, then yes, most of us do that. But "cheating" and "scamming" are two different things, and scammers can go to hell.
