Been seeing a surge in Lifetime software and sellers. The kind of software where you pay for it just once and get it for life.

Previously it was just AppSumo eating the lion's share in the market. Can see a lot of new entrants in the market.

Do you buy lifetime deal software?
If yes, which was your favorite purchase?

Yes, if the software/service is solid post release phase I rather pay for support when I need it. This isnt insurance to pay periodically. My favourite would be quuu.
 
The keyword 'lifetime' is the highlight here. It's not your lifetime. It's the lifetime of that company, till it lasts.

A lot of startups sell lifetime plans initially to get some initial capital and then eventually phase out the lifetime plan.

A company needs funds for constant maintenance and development of a software. So those who stick to lifetime plans for a long time end up needing to shut down shop.
 
no, companies often sell the entire business after they milked the software
plus there is no incentive on improving and innovating with the product as u already gave the max amount of money to them

Guys, you do realize that before SaaS, most of the software was lifetime? And it was a lot better. All this crap that makes you pay a monthly fee so that a robot can do 3 clicks for you is just idiotic. I would rather pay a lifetime fee for software that is reliable, even if I won't use it for the entirety of my life, than have hundreds of payments to take care of on a monthly basis
 
i purchased from appsumo for LTD for p3ppertyp3. not good not bad, but didn't fully use it though for now.

not that much of credits, just 10k words

These options have the same meaning. So I'm going with both just that can't vote one. There are a few LT products purchased off AS that tremendous improved our business productivity.
 
I like lifetime licenses since many subscription models are somehow too expensive(hey adobe), but sometimes we got no other choice(some of IM bots out there)

Do you know of products like that? I doubt it.
Most software that is SaaS has some algorithm, database or something that clearly should not be sold on one-time basis.

Of course, some stuff that is called SaaS shouldn't be SaaS, but that's just a misunderstanding of people who are behind it and eventually someone will out them by making the lifetime alternative.

The best way is to have both options in your software I guess.
 
I don't use any paid software or app. Everything I use is free and, if possible, open source (e.g Libre Office instead of Microsoft Office, GIMP instead of Photoshop, and so on).
The only paid subscription I have is for my cloud storage (pCloud), and it's a lifetime subscription. I also have a Windows 10 (now 11) license I bought for like $7.
No cracked software or app at all, but I used to download cracked games from time to time when I was younger. Nowadays I don't play any game.
 
I might consider AI writing tools
Right now, jarvis doesn't offer a lifetime deal
 
Yes have purchased a few lifetime deals and they are definitely worth the hassle
 
A long time ago, before I created an account on BHW. I bought some life time software for FB from BST. After 2-3 months FB had updated and so the software needed to be updated. But the seller said they no longer maintain the software and has reached end of life. So the software wasnt updated and no longer worked. I had bought something for lifetime and only got 2-3 months use of it.
 
Yes, if I plan on using the product for long enough to make my money back. Otherwise, I just buy monthly
