I used to build links on reddit a few years ago and stopped doing that because I did not see increase in rankings.

When it comes to Reddit, SE or even Quora, it's more about adding value to the community. If your sole purpose of being on these communities is to add build links, it will be pretty obvious and you'll likely get banned pretty quickly. Similarly, you can't halfass it either because that won't add value.

My team and I have used Reddit and Quora extensively for SEO and when you do it right, the traffic you gain is way better than the link juice. Relevant and converts very well, and while it helps a bit with ranking better, it gives you a solid alternative source of traffic.

My suggestion: If you want to use Reddit, Quora or SE for SEO, you have to become part of the community, add value and grow your authority. Link building alone won't cut it.

Yeah, I build links on reddit, quora and similar sites, but I dont really do it to get a backlink.
I do it to get traffic from there.

forget SEO.. use reddit as a traffic source and to identify content that will work.. it can be a tremendous source of traffic..

Why do you think I don't know this? I know, I've driven over 1,000,000 visitors to a URL, 3 times.
