Just wondering is it good or bad practice..
Cause logically if the category page is strong, then it's easier for the inner pages to rank

It depends. If the link to the category page is logical than do it. If you build a bunch of irrelevant backlinks to your category page, it will have zero sense and benefit. But yeah in most cases I try building links to both home and category pages.

Yes, I heard people say their inner pages rank on Google and not the homepage. This happens if its strong and have a unique value to offer, say an interesting article.

It is always a safe practice to build links to inner pages as well as the homepage, this gives you the diversification factor.

I never do. I have my homepage link directly to category pages. More cost effective to just send links to homepage. It's rare for a legitimate website to link to a category page.

yes, we should create backlinks for every URL either it is category page or the product page.

Yes you can, there's no harm in that. You want your link profile to look natural. So if a "real" website would have a reason to link to your category page, then why not link to it. :D

yeah you can do it id you need post page/ product page etc

Yes it is better to having the category pages. You can target with specific keyword for inner page rather than targeting for homepage. In home page you may target all your keywords over there.

Yes if you build custom category page.

Learn how to build silo structure properly.

yes build backlink on inner page so that it improves main page and DA as well aong with PA

1. If you want to rank it
2. If it has value to users
3. If the link is relevant to the page

As long as it makes sense, do it. For example, building links to an e-commerce website category pages would make total sense as they are the main KW carriers.

Absolutely! Google wants to see a natural link-profile. Wouldn't it be very unnatural if every single on of your backlinks (lets say you only receive earned links from different sites without you are reaching out) was to your frontpage? :) You should target to have backlinks for every single URL. Not just for Google but for your users!

Quality links are links from sites with actual traffic. Actual traffic = Real users visiting your website. Why would you lead them to your frontpage if they ask for a certain product that you sell? Or why should anyone recomend/link to your websites frontpage if i ask of a certain product of yours? Of course you - or anyone recomending you - would link directly to the product categori.

Of course yes, it will help to rank the page which you are looking to rank for with category links. If we go with the health category, the article should have the theme of health. If it is irrelevant to the category, absolutely it is a waste of time.

If you're trying to rank with your category then yes. It will help to rank and also pass the link juice to other posts in that category.

Sometimes I even de-index them so links are a big NO
