After following the media for the past few years about Kim Schmitz and what he has done after the MegaUpload raid and his sale of Mega.co.nz it appears as if it's still being dragged on...

I personally love the guy and see his freedom as a way to develop MegaNet and to further enhance the Internet Party, but let's try to refrain from politics here.

Since he's never lived in the United States I feel that would be a reason to have some leaway over the prosecution, but since the claims brought against him sound a bit vague I honestly have no idea what they are doing.

It's been over a year since i've heard about him being posted and just wanted to see what you guys think about this as his downfall led to the dissaray of the previous pay per download industry which lead to the acronym PPD turn from Cost Per 1,000 downloads to each survey completed at a CPA network.

What are your thoughts on his downfall, effects on what will happen with a guilty and not guilt plead as well as what could happen to even smaller types of issues if the prosecution ends up winning???

If this ends against him I fear something else might spur around and bring issues.

He's done a lot since then and if he goes under again I might cry due to his innovation getting cut off.

Could we be next?

I have heard of this guy and his story a few times but don't know much about it.

Anyway fuck the government, specifically our U.S government.

I hope Kim keeps pushing and doing what he does.

I really couldn't care less if he had any knowledge about any wrongdoings or not.

There are bigger fish the U.S should be frying - but of course, they protect the bankers, big corporations etcetera. I have no sympathy for the U.S nor their attempt to extradite and prosecute Kim Dotcom.

He is an interesting guy, I read about it all at the time he got raided etc, but aside from that I don't know much about it.

I would love to see some views of people here that know more about it, but from what I can see he seems like a good guy, he has made a lot of money so good luck to him and as with any case where its government trying to claw back more money, hopefully Kim wins.

I just find it sad that the US gov & feds are all up his ass while he never done any business in the US.
The fact that the US government has the hand on his assets & liquidity is really shocking.

I would at least like to see the proper government (NZ or anywhere he had bank account/legal business) take over that file.

He was openly admitting to what was going on in the emails between him and other staff members. They would have put more effort to ban users and turn over information to the MPAA/RIAA on repeated abusers of their service if it was a legit company instead of a criminal enterprise.

PPD still means pay per 1,000 downloads on most other sites, its just BHW that people use it as CPA.

I live in New Zealand, and throw back to the time when he was competing for his party (internet)
