Most civilizations believe in some sort of retributive universe. Suggesting it doesn't exist because you can't see the Authority keeping score isn't any more accurate than the majority that believe it exists.
I don't want to start a debate but there is plenty that science can't explain and all you have to do is witness the birth of a newborn to realize it. Watch the appendage completely dependent and living off its host suddenly become alive and ask science to explain it. Better yet ask them to build it. The movie Frankenstein was from the 1950s I believe yet science still hasn't taken a batch of body parts, sewn them together and given the project life. No life comes from anything but life; science can't explain it.
I believe in a lot of things I don't understand, can't see or touch.

Belief is a poor substitute for knowledge and experience.
The guy who says "I believe" is just as wrong as the guy who says "There's nothing there".
Both are two sides of the same coin.
The honest thing is to say "I don't know."

Yes, it does. Even if 100 billion people, aliens and amoebas believe in flying pink elephants that eat cake for supper but can't prove their existence, flying pink elephants that eat cake for supper do not exist. What you, me, everyone thinks is worth exactly 0. Proof and only proof counts.

That 's true, science can not prove that something does not exist. It can only prove existence.

Science is flawed. If this is a virtual reality like in a sandbox game then science is just a tool within it, and because its just a tool within it, it's within the box. It cannot go out and beyond the box because it doesn't have that capacity and therefore it is only a tool that can be used to understand/change life from within the box. Anything out of the box is beyond its scope.
Does that make any sense?

Yes. And I agree with that. That 's exactly what I demand of science. To explain reality (what you call "the box"). Nothing more and nothing less.

I didn't mean flawed in that particular way, it's amazing because it explores the world we live in and gives us opportunities we wouldn't have otherwise come up with but at the same time it's not exactly something that will lead to any real truth or give any real answers about the cosmos. It's more of a tool to enhance life. No?

Are you agnostic because you're ignorant or because you're educated? I don't need to see something to know it exists. I can't seen oxygen but I know it exists. I can't see what makes life happen but know whatever it is, it certainly exists. I know the tale of an Authority figure creating this universe in a week isn't any less believable than science saying life traveled to this planet piggybacked to a meteor and evolved from a single cell organism into the complex and variety of lifeforms we have today.
Hell science can't even explain how a human can scrape his fingerprint completely off a finger until it is smooth and it will grow back EXACTLY as it was.
I won't go into personal details here but I've sat in a doctor's office and listened to him try and explain the unexplainable. How he looked at contradicting x-rays taken 3 weeks apart, saying it's impossible. Believing so much in his "science" that he ordered another set of x-rays saying the lab must of mixed up the results. After the second set of x-rays came back clean his conclusion was the "first" ones must of been flawed. LMAO.
Yeah you're not going to convince this old dog your agnostic views are correct because you think the world is black and white and we're all here by chance. Maybe if I was just 20 years old I might consider such a viewpoint. At 52 I've seen way too much that can't be explained, not by doctors, professors or science. I've seen so much contradiction in science over the years that I personally believe most of it is nothing but pure propaganda pushing someone's agenda.

Of course, you're free to believe anything you want...but believing in supreme being and comparing it's existence to oxygen is a bit of a stretch. Oxygen,unlike supreme beings,can be measured,quantified and proven to exist easily.That's why you don't believe oxygen is there.You simply know it's there.

I believe that. Along with countless similar stories. And it 's so easy to explain. Science, unlike the mystical spirits, is a human creation. The knowledge set is always incomplete and evolving. For example, we were pretty positive for thousands of years that man can't fly. Until someone proved that it wasn't so. What stays constant is science and is the whole reason spiritualists hate it is the method. The method leaves no room for gurus and their shit.
No one cares to convince you of anything. You are free to burn in whatever hell you like

Well, I always respected your opinios Jazzc although I disagree with them. But talking about evolution theory to back up your story, I am very disappointed :-(
Evolution isnt even accepted as scientific theory anymore. It has proven its failure!

Actually Yes I do beleive in Karma but I don't do nice things to people just because I want something back, It feels really good when you help someone in need.

Thank you for including me in your prayers. Actually, I am neither an atheist nor an agnostic. I am in a position to understand though that what *I* believe, I have no way to prove it. And since it is out of the realm of science, it has no value for anyone other than me. Simple as that.

I have to admit I liked the above but it holds nothing new to me. It is a repetitive thing and people will continue to have such different views as perception matters in forming an opinion. Would be nice if people stayed objective and not just repeat what others said.
I don't need to see Australia to know it is there, don't need to see DNA to know my appearance is caused by it (including fingerprints), don't need to see germs to know they are there either. The things I read about such things make sense and are consistent. I am simply not intelligent enough/ don't have the time to verify it all to still be able to accept them as facts of life.
When I read about Job, I know enough to not want to have anything to do with creatures capable to do such terrible acts while loving me at the same time, logic tells me it is made up anyways. If it was true, the world we live in now would not exist simply because we are not allowed to have such a world if those creatures had anything to do with it.
Karma is different, it is not based on good or evil, not based on perception either. Science can back a lot of that concept and given time it will explain a lot more in scientific terms whereas we can now only see that when you push lever A the door opens up, or closes when you pull it.
We are all in a box, lets call it the universe, in that box we are all one and one is all. We are connected if even only by being here. Since we are connected, we can influence each other and the world we live in.
Quite a simple concept really, seems logical to me but who am I? History will not mention me, 50km away people have never have/will hear(d) of me so who am I in the grand scheme of things? Yet, it is a very logical concept and I will stand by it, and live by it, till someone can convince me otherwise. Seeing it is a simple and logical concept, I doubt anybody can tho. lolz
